ADIRONDACK BALLOON FESTIVAL

Lake George is well known for its natural beauty, quality attractions, accommodations, fine dining, and a wide range of experiences. It’s also host to the Adirondack Hot Air Balloon Festival every September, an unforgettable experience.  You’ll have three opportunities to see the balloons, and those of you with a spirit of adventure can contract with one of the owners for a balloon ride.  Nothing on earth can compare with the excitement of seeing a hundred hot air balloons rising above you at dawn. 

Your tour departs from Lizak Bus Company on Main Street in Warren at 8:00 Am with a single rest stop en route to Lake George.  We’re going to start with a visit to Fort William Henry, a restored fort dating back to the French and Indian War.  Afterward, we’ll have free time for lunch before check-in at the Georgian Resort.  At around 4 PM, we’ll board our coach for a late afternoon first look at the festival. Your evening is free to try one of the local restaurants for dinner.

On Saturday, we’ll take an early morning drive to the festival where we will see the balloons go up at dawn.  Breakfast will not be served this morning, but there are many opportunities to eat at the festival; this is a thrilling experience.  When we return to the hotel, the remainder of your day and evening will be at leisure.  You can shop, take a cruise on Lake George aboard the Minne-ha-ha, play some miniature golf, stroll down to the shores of Lake George to take in the fireworks.  We'll spend our evening at the Georgian's supper club for dinner and theater featuring entertainer Laura Roth.  On Sunday we will drive to the top of Prospect Mountain for a spectacular view (weather permitting) and afterward we’ll head for Saratoga Springs where we will have free time to take lunch and explore on our own.
